Carlos Sainz replaced his engine in Monza ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. It is the second time in the current Formula 1 season that the Spaniard has had a new engine. In total, drivers are allowed to use four engines per season. Should this number be exceeded, a grid penalty follows for the driver.

Verstappen went over the number of engines allowed at the Belgian Grand Prix, which earned him a grid penalty of 10 spots. The Dutchman took pole position, forcing him to start from 11th place at Spa-Francorchamps. Sainz is thus allowed one more engine change after the Italian Grand Prix.

The Spanish driver also has a new gearbox in his car. With Sainz, there are also two other drivers in F1 this weekend who have new gearboxes for the Italian Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon.
