Norris angry with question from journalists: 'I won't answer that'
- Sandy van Wijngaarden
Lando Norris secured pole position in Monza for Sunday's race. His title rival Max Verstappen finished only seventh. After the session, the championship battle is the talk of the day, but the Briton is not sweyed by this.
Ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, the points difference between Verstappen and Norris is exactly 70. At Zandvoort, the McLaren driver already beat Verstappen by more than 22 seconds. For the Italian Grand Prix, it looks like the Briton can take home a lot more points than his rival.
Norris does not want to talk about the championship
Norris just does not want to answer any more questions about the drivers' championship. Speaking to Viaplay he said the following: "Anytime someone says championship, I'm not going to answer the question," Norris said.
Whether he could score many points tomorrow and creep closer to the Dutchman in contention, the Briton responded rather cynically. "That's a fact. Yeah, I can. But the race is tomorrow, so I don't know."
He also responded sharply during the press conference to a question about his start. The run to the first corner is quite long, and Norris has a statistic about his name, where he always loses the lead after gaining pole position. "I'm not [worried about it]," the Briton said.
