Max Verstappen has looked ahead to the race ahead of him during the Drivers Parade ahead of the Monza Grand Prix. The Dutchman hopes to have a good race, but at the same time he tempered expectations.
Before going into his chances during the race, Verstappen first praised the passion of the Ferrari supporters along the track. "It's just amazing to see all the support, a lot of Ferrari fans. Beautiful to see so many people passionate about the brand and support their drivers. Happy to be a Monza," Verstappen stated.
Verstappen hopes to fight
Although the weekend has not yet gone to plan for Verstappen sport-wise, he does love racing at Monza. "With the new kerbs and the new tarmac, it has become even more fun to drive for me personally. I'm looking forward to the race."
The three-time world champion does not expect to perform a feat, but he hopes to be solid for the day. "The whole weekend we have been off, struggling with the car. We are at the back of the top group, I don't expect miracles but I hope we can be in the battle and try to score some decent points. It is a tough weekend and the balance is not good, it will be no different during the race, but we are going to make the best of it."
