Horner believes RB20 updates will 'have bigger effect' later this season
Red Bull have brought one update to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend. After much criticism from Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez on the RB20, an adjustment has been made to the car, with both drivers now having received a new floor for the car. Horner explained that this update is especially important for the race in Austin.
Perez already said he was more confident about this weekend than in past race weekends. Horner understands that, which he told the press conference on Friday. "Based on 95% of his race victories have come on street circuits, it's clear why Checo is feeling more confident with being here in the streets of Baku, and then Singapore"

However, the team boss must also give a disclaimer. "I think for the characteristics of our car, particularly this circuit, it is all slow 90-degree corners, and it hasn't been the Achilles heel for the car. So some of the changes that we're making and some of the discoveries that we've had actually are not that applicable for this circuit, they're more applicable for the likes of Austin," Horner explained. The United States Grand Prix will be raced there on the weekend of 20 October.
That does not mean Red Bull's discoveries are completely without value. "So we can still learn valuable lessons and some of the stuff that we're trying and testing will certainly not be unbeneficial for a race like this, but we're expecting it to have a bigger effect at some of the more flowing circuits."
