When will Red Bull get a next set of updates to fight for the title?

Real improvement was needed on the RB20. The balance was not good, and even three-time world champion Max Verstappen could not drive around the problems. In Baku, the team seems to be a bit stronger again, although Helmut Marko and Christian Horner already explained that the upgrades will come into their own better in Austin.

But will there be additional upgrades in Austin? Monaghan said: "Well we hope we've got something decent here, but can we all blend it for Austin as a potential further evolution? Yeah. All of that sits before us. The question then is how will the car perform here, and how does the car perform in Singapore and then what can we do? Is it worth spending money to potentially blend those revisions into one or take it further for Austin? We'll see how good the predictions are and whether it becomes worth it."

There are four weeks between the Singapore Grand Prix and the United States Grand Prix in Austin. Plenty of time to work on the car, you might say. Monaghan therefore said: "It gives us the freedom to potentially do more. The real question is you don't force yourself into doing it. The disciplined approach is to say, 'Is it valuable enough to spend the money to do it to take it to Austin?'"

Red Bull's chief engineer continued, "And don't forget Austin's a sprint race. So you're going to roll the dice in FP1 and then, okay, yes, no, indifferent, keep it, not keep it. But that then leaves us potentially with few of any one piece. So your choices for Austin are team dependent, somewhat confident dependent and I'll let you know when we get there if I'm feeling generous about what we've done."
