Williams has been fined €5,000 after a team member failed to remove cooling equipment from Alex Albon's car. The FIA deemed the car's release unsafe and penalised the team.

Alex Albon was involved in a bizarre incident in qualifying in Azerbaijan. At the Baku City Circuit, as the Thai driver left the pit lane for his second run in Q3, his team forgot to take off a cooling device. Therefore, Albon had to visit the stewards.

The FIA stewards noted: "The car was stopped at the first opportunity, at the pit exit, and subsequently the driver removed the fan and threw it overboard where it was subsequently retrieved by a marshal. Albon the drove away and entered the pits without setting an additional time."

Albon will be pleased that there is no direct sporting penalty for him. He and his new teammate, Franco Colapinto, will start inside the top ten.
