Bad news for Hamilton: Brit loses his seventh place on the Baku grid
Lewis Hamilton will have to start the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from the pit lane. The seven-time world champion had his engine replaced before the race at the Baku City Circuit, forcing Hamilton to start from the pit lane. The Mercedes team has made adjustments to the W15 outside the times in which it is allowed.
Hamilton has received a new engine in his car. Not only the Englishman, but also Esteban Ocon has to start the race from the pit lane. The Frenchman from Alpine has also received a new engine in his car. During the third free practice session, the engine could still be seen failing. Ocon therefore caused a red flag. Hamilton qualified P7, meaning Fernando Alonso may move up one place, and Franco Colapinto may start from the fourth row of the grid.
