Piastri, Leclerc and Russell gasp in SHOCK to F1 crash in Baku
The F1 podium finishers in Baku were shown footage of the crash between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez. Oscar Piastri, Charles Leclerc and George Russell all gasped loudly when the crash was shown on the footage. They see a rivalry building between the two.
In the cooldown room before the podium celebrations, the top three drivers sat next to each other. As always, they were shown the highlights of the race which included parts of the highly impressive battle between winner Piastri and Leclerc.
Piastri was the first to react to his overtake on Leclerc. "To be honest when I hit the brakes, I thought there was a 50/50 chance whether I make this corner or not," the Australian said. Leclerc admitted he thought he arrived too quickly. "I just broke the way I was braking normally. I thought he's [Piastri] not going to release the brakes," Leclerc replied. Russell sat next to them with a smile on his face.
