McLaren ordered to make changes

The FIA has reported to GPblog.com that McLaren must modify its rear wing in two places. The 'flexi-wing' on the MCL38 must be modified after a debate with Red Bull and Ferrari

Earlier, the FIA revealed that the Baku data would still be investigated. This is not the news Zak Brown and Andrea Stella wish to hear. The racing body has concluded that the beding of the rear wing is not correct and needs to be adjusted in two places.

‘Yes, we asked for a minor modification to the wing, as is usual when we discuss technical matters with teams,’ the FIA stated. Prior to this, Brown, Stella and also drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri seemed confident. In the press conference, Piastri shared that he thinks it is ‘natural’ for teams to complain about this given how competitive they have been this season, but he was not concerned. The MCL38 had also initially passed some tests. However, after a calculation made by Red Bull, the FIA changed its mind, Auto, Motor und Sport reported.
