Verstappen happy after Singapore qualifying: 'Especially after yesterday'
- Estéban den Toom
Max Verstappen is satisfied with his performance in qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. During Q3, the Red Bull driver was fastest behind Lando Norris, who was faster than the entire field on soft tyres.
"The whole of qualifying went quite well. We managed to improve the car run after run. I'm happy to be on the front row if you look at where we came from yesterday. Q3 was tough. Your lap gets of course cancelled with the double-waved yellow then everyone only has one run to do the lap, so you don't want to overdo it. You want to stay within the limit," Verstappen said.
The Dutchman is happy with his P2, especially after yesterday's performance. "I'll take second - I'm happy with that. Tomorrow is a bit difficult to say, in Singapore a lot of things can happen, but at least we have a shot at it like this."
Norris starts from pole position in Singapore
On Sunday Norris will start from pole position. It is the sixth time the Briton has been allowed to start from the best possible starting spot. Verstappen will start from P2 and Hamilton from P3 will of course also be aiming for victory in Singapore.
