Lando Norris has been amazed by a fan video showcasing his gap to Max Verstappen in the Singapore Grand Prix. Norris ended up beating Verstappen by nearly 21 seconds and at one point he had a lead of a around half a minute. Norris added 25 points to his season tally and closed the gap to Verstappen in the Formula 1 World Championship, but still needs to bridge a 52 point gap to become champion.

Norris dominanted the Singapore Grand Prix. The McLaren driver led every single lap of the race, though he still made it hard for himself by hitting the barrier twice. Norris survived those nervy moments without car damage and cruised to victory.

On TikTok, a fan posted a video showcasing the gap. Across the start/finish straight, the fan started the recording when Norris drove by. There was a long quiet gap, until Verstappen appeared driving down the straight. The fan wanted to highlight the dominance and said: 'this is CRAZY. It's STILL growing!"

Norris has since commented on the video. He was even surprised himself. "I know this is me, but that's wild," Norris said before adding the crying with laughter emoji. His comment has since gained 14,000 likes. Other fans commented on the video and were quick to highlight "the real gap" is 52 points in the World Champion.

How Norris dominated the Singapore Grand Prix

Norris and pole positions were synonymous with frustration and letdown for the British driver. Norris failed to maintain the lead through the opening lap in each of his previous pole positions, but there were no such troubles in Singapore. He launched off the line quickly, and Verstappen wasn't able to challenge at turn one.

In fact, McLaren were able to showcase some blistering pace. Will Joseph, Norris' race engineer, told him to open up a five second gap by around lap 15. Norris obliged and actually ended up smashing the target highlighting the performance shift like never before. On lap 24, Norris had opened up a 19-second lead over Verstappen. The Dutchman was no slouch himself: he had opened up a 12-second lead on Russell.
