Guenther Steiner thinks Lando Norris will beat Max Verstappen and become Formula 1 World Champion at the end of the 2024 F1 season. The former Haas boss bets on Norris and tells McLaren to be nice towards Ferrari, who could end up helping them out.

"I bet on Lando," Steiner said in a conversation on the red flags podcast. "What I saw in Singapore was just so good. Except, for the few times he kissed the wall a little bit. Did he lose concentration? Did he try to do something? I don't know, but it's weird. Look at Magnussen, he does it once and it's a puncture. The other hits the wall three times, doesn't get anything. That's just a view of how life is sometimes."

Ferrari will play a role in title race

If Max Verstappen finishes second in all sprint races and Grands Prix this season, he will be assured of his fourth world title. A hefty task, especially as Ferrari has also improved in recent weeks. The Italian team had a few more difficult months, but now that the problems with bouncing have been resolved, the team from Maranello is back at the front of the field.

"I think Ferrari will decide who is going to be the world champion, the drivers world champion. It's how many points they can steal from Max," said Steiner, who has advice for McLaren CEO Zak Brown. "He needs to be nice with Fred [Vasseur] and not be aggressive. Fred helps him to steal points from Max."
