Lewis Hamilton makes his debut appearance in a Dior campaign
Lewis Hamilton has officially appeared in his first Dior campaign. It's part of the lifestyle capsule collection which has been designed by Kim Jones and the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. The French fashion house secured an ambassadorship deal with Hamilton earlier in the year.
The 39-year-old will start a brand new chapter in his Formula 1 career next season when he makes his debut for Ferrari. After spending more than a decade at Mercedes, Hamilton will make the change and wear red in 2025. But Hamilton has made a different debut in another industry he is passionate about: fashion.
Hamilton makes his Dior debut
Dior revealed their latest lifestyle capsule collection, and Hamilton is the face of that campaign. The design is inspired by one of Hamilton's favourite pastimes: winter sports. "I started snowboarding when I was 23 — quite late, really — but I go every year without fail," Hamilton told WWD. The design follows similar trends to what Hamilton wears in the paddock. The collection has wide-leg trousers, knitted sweaters and oversized jackets.
Hamilton and Jones wanted to ensure the materials used were sustainable. Jones highlighted how some of the materials were made in the West African country Burkina Faso. The collection will be released in-store and online on October 17. Hamilton will be in Texas on that day as the Mercedes driver prepares for the United States Grand Prix during that weekend.
