Some go to a good restaurant with friends and family, some have a party at home, and others enjoy a fun activity. Celebrating your birthday can be done in the most diverse ways. Max Verstappen prefers to do it behind the wheel. If there is no Formula 1 race, then he's happy to just drive a GT car.
Verstappen had already mentioned it after the Singapore Grand Prix. He would celebrate his 27th birthday at the circuit this year. The Red Bull Racing driver treated himself to a special birthday present.
Last Tuesday, Verstappen hired the Mugello circuit - the permanent test track of Ferrari's F1 team- in Italy, to drive a Ferrari 296 GT3. Conditions were not easy, as it had rained heavily. On a soaking wet track, Verstappen eventually completed some laps.
Of course, it is unknown what lap times Verstappen set with the Ferrari, but they will undoubtedly have been fast. Perhaps the Dutchman will take the track again on Wednesday because, as is understood, Verstappen has not yet returned to his home in Monaco.
