verstappen told rowland who would outpace him in F1

Sacha Fenestraz rates Oliver Rowland so highly that he compares him to the current Formula 1 World Champion, Max Verstappen. Fenestraz, Rowland's former teammate at Nissan in Formula E last season, revealed that Max Verstappen himself even made a confession about Rowland's ability. He revealed that even the Dutchman believes Rowland could "overshadow" him if he were racing alongside him in Formula 1.

Fenestraz rates Rowland highly but knows he's not the only one impressed by the British driver's talents. According to an interview with the South American edition of Motorsport.com, the French Argentinian says he knows Verstappen feels Rowland has the potential to overshadow him in F1.

Could Rowland overshadow Verstappen?

"Oliver at his best is easily on a par with Verstappen," said Fenestraz who was beaten comfortably by Rowland across the Formula E season. "He's very good friends with Verstappen and this year Verstappen was telling Oliver that it's a pity he's not in Formula 1 because he'd be overshadowing him, so people inside motorsport know the potential he [Rowland] has."

Rowland finished the Formula E season fourth, with two wins and five more podium finishes. Rowland had to miss two races due to illness. It is widely believed that the driver - also the mentor of Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad - maximised (if not went beyond) the potential of the Nissan car.
