Max Verstappen was coming out of the pitlane in qualifying when Pierre Gasly suddenly appeared along side. After qualifying, Verstappen joined the media, and he had some advice for the Alpine mechanic.

Verstappen and Gasly didn't crash, so the Dutchman could continue in qualifying. He ended up in P2 but isn't frustrated. "It's part of it, it can happen eh. On my first lap I miss turn 19. Especially at this time you can't afford anything. Of course the weekend went very well, small mistake in Q3 in the first run. Of course, if it wasn't a yellow flag you would have had a chance of pole. Only yes, sometimes it happens, and you can't finish the lap," Verstappen responded to Viaplay.

Verstappen: 'Go buy glasses!'

During the third part of qualifying, there was another hair-raising moment with Pierre Gasly. "I saw it happen with that mechanic, he just sends him outside. Go and buy some glasses! Not for Pierre, but for that mechanic," Verstappen explained with a laugh. Asked if the Red Bull driver has any specific glasses in mind, he replied, "really big ones".

The reigning world champion will start from second place on Sunday. Lando Norris starts frm pole. "Even if we are sixth, and we are fast, we will catch up anyway. We'll see tomorrow," the Dutchman added.
