Mercedes CEO and team principal Toto Wolff agrees with Zak Brown about their rivals, Red Bull Racing's controversial front bib device. While the FIA have made their decision after an investigation, similarly to the American, Wolff is still sceptical about why the Austrian team had such a tool designed this way.

"My view is from the distance of what I've seen and what I've heard, it's outrageous. I really like that when they put this real broom in the car to demonstrate how the only way of that getting changed. I wonder how long it took them to make this and to stick it in there. And I didn't know that in Formula 1 we were using such devices," Wolff began on the matter following the US Grand Prix.

Wolff criticises Red Bull's system

"It's not good enough, to promise that you won't use it again," the Austrian continued about the FIA's verdict. Previously, Zak Brown has recommended that Red Bull employees should sign a statement under oath in order to ensure that the aforementioned system was never used by the team.

"Why would you design such a thing? Put two marks on it for two positions? Is that the precise decision-making in Formula 1?" Wolff asks the rhetorical question.

The FIA consider that the matter has been closed, however, Red Bull's rivals in the paddock are yet to understand that decision. "I cannot speak for the FIA at all. I cannot speak for Nicolas (Tombazis). Obviously, that's something that's been unsupported for a long time," the team principal concluded.
