Debate: Ferrari will beat McLaren and Red Bull in the F1 World Championship
- Estéban den Toom
Ferrari put themselves back in the mix for the Constructors' World Championship by securing a one-two finish at the United States Grand Prix weekend. Charles Leclerc made an impressive move at the start of the race and never looked back. Carlos Sainz worked his way through to second. It puts Ferrari 48 points behind with five Grands Prix and three sprint races remaining.
Those who thought Ferrari would no longer compete in the constructors' championship in motorsport's premier class were wrong. The constructor are already almost level with Red Bull Racing. There are still five Grands Prix left on the Formula 1 calendar this season. The F1 circus still travels to Mexico, Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
World championship standings with Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari
Ferrari is currently on 496 points in the constructors' championship. Red Bull Racing, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, has only scored eight more points in total this season. The gap to McLaren is not huge either. The team of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri has a 40-point lead over Red Bull, and thus 48 points over Ferrari.
