Red Bull seemed to be easily heading towards a third Formula 1 Constructors' Championship title in a row at the start of the season but has since been overtaken by McLaren. Now, third-placed Ferrari are applying pressure with just eight points separating them after Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz secured one-two at the United States Grand Prix.

"We definitely want to avoid dropping to third because there is also a difference of about seven million dollars. You clearly feel that in the budget," Marko told Kleine Zeitung.

Marko sees a positive side - from Red Bull's perspective - to the performance of the Scuderia. Ferrari is, in fact, particularly strong these days, and, according to Marko, there is a good chance that the Italians will still take plenty of points from McLaren as well as Lando Norris"At the moment, four different teams can win. That makes it unlikely that one driver will win all the races," Marko said. "But we cannot afford to make a mistake, so it remains exciting," the Austrian added.

Marko: 'Mark Webber is at the track more often'

Marko also addressed his statements about Oscar Piastri in the Austrian newspaper. Having already indicated that his words had been taken out of context. "There is a lot of hyping up going on. Mark Webber is simply back at the track more often now and we like to talk about old times," Marko said. Webber, notably, is no stranger to Marko. The Australian drove for Red Bull from 2007 to 2013. The Austrian racing team won four consecutive Constructors' World Championships during that period.
