Red Bull Racing broke the curfew during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend. The Austrian team continued working on their cars into the night. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will not receive a penalty as teams are allowed to do it twice per year. This is the second time Red Bull has done that in 2024. Mercedes also broke the curfew on the same night.

Earlier on Saturday, it was announced that Red Bull had at least replaced Verstappen's engine. It is currently unclear whether longer work was also done on Perez's car. In any case, it therefore does not result in a penalty for the racing team, the FIA announced. If it happens again in 2024, Red Bull will take a penalty.

Mercedes also worked longer. The team had to rebuild George Russell's car after his heavy crash in FP2. The Briton has a new chassis for FP3 and the rest of the weekend. No penalty follows for Mercedes either.
