What time is qualifying and the Brazilian Grand Prix?
The 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 3 at 15:30 GMT. It marks the final part of a triple-header which has seen controversial races in the United States and Mexico featuring battles between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris as the end of the season nears. After the Brazilian Grand Prix, just three races remain. Qualifying will also take place on Sunday.
Norris is trying to bridge a large gap to Verstappen in the World Championship. 44-points currently seperate the two rivals. In the United States, Norris tried to overtake Verstappen. The McLaren driver got through but he made the move off the track and the stewards awarded him with a five-second penalty. In Mexico, it was Verstappen's turn to be punished. The stewards deemed him to be at fault twice. It allowed Norris to cut into Verstappen's lead and means tensions are bubbling between Red Bull and McLaren ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Brazilian Grand Prix weekend will use the sprint format. Just six Grands Prix on the calendar use this format which will see just 60 minutes of free practice. The meanignful sessions start on Friday afternoon with qualifying for the sprint race. The sprint race itself takes place first on Saturday, before qualifying for Sunday's Grand Prix later in the day.
The timetable drastically changed after a wet qualifying on Saturday. The F1 teams and drivers were unable to start qualifying due to the weather conditions. It was, therefore, moved to Sunday.
