Hamilton refuses to compare: 'Didn't see Verstappen vs Norris'
Max Verstappen was penalised for his maneouvres against Lando Norris. Before Norris, the last driver to fight against the Dutchman was Lewis Hamilton back in 2021. The Briton however decided not to elaborate on the matter, given he was busy fighting against George Russell that moment.
Hamilton decides against commenting on Verstappen
Many believed the latest controversy was similar to the battle between Verstappen and Hamilton at the 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix. However, the seven-time world champion is yet to get to that conclusion.
"I didn't see it. I've not seen it, no. But all I saw was... I think George had just gotten past me I think. Or no. I could see a group of cars ahead. And I saw a plume of smoke. Like, of dust. And I knew it was... I knew it must have been...," the Mercedes driver began about Verstappen and Norris' battle this weekend.
Afterwards, Hamilton decided not to comment on Verstappen's driving style, as many claim that the Dutchman has now crossed the line on multiple occasions. "Again I haven't seen it so I can't comment on that," he repeated.
On adjusting the F1 rule book
During this weekend in Mexico City, the drivers had the chance to revise the rules about overtaking and defending in the competition. "They spoke about it for a long time. No conclusion. I think they said they were going to sit down at one of the races coming up to talk about how we can go about making it better," Hamilton said about the last briefing.
