Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda have both commented on a possible arrival of Franco Colapinto to the Red Bull Racing family. The Argentine driver - who currently races for Williams - has been widely linked with a move to Red Bull.

Colapinto replaced Logan Sargeant at Williams and made an excellent impression straight away. The Argentine driver scored points immediately and has sometimes been faster than experienced teammate Alexander Albon. Colapinto will lose his seat at the end of the year, as Williams has signed Carlos Sainz for the 2025 season.

With Sergio Perez struggling at Red Bull, there has been talk about Lawson or Tsunoda replacing the Mexican. Colapinto would then be eligible for the seat at Visa Cash App RB, Red Bull's sister team.

Verstappen and Tsunoda react to Colapinto

At the press conference, Verstappen and Tsunoda were asked if Colapinto is ready for Red Bull. "He's definitely doing a good job and I don't know much about those things and I didn't see much. If it's not an option, I'll be surprised because he's doing well and he doesn't have a seat so far for next season. If he's fast, I think all the teams will be options who haven't selected a seat for next year," Tsunoda said.

Verstappen joined Tsunoda. "It's complicated to answer that because he's still contracted to Williams. He's doing a great job. I think Williams is probably scratching their heads a bit about what to do with Franco, but for me personally just shows that teams just need to be more open to put young talents in and trust them," Verstappen said.

"Because now you have this kind of situation, where he's a Williams junior and potentially has to leave or try to find luck elsewhere right. Well they could have put him in the car. It's complicated. Whatever he decides or his management decides to do...does he deserve a spot on the grid? I think with what he has shown so far, yes. But it's not easy to find a spot at the moment," the Dutchman added.
