Haas confirm: Magnussen OUT for rest of the weekend, Bearman to drive!

Oliver Bearman replaces Kevin Magnussen in Brazil GP

Kevin Magnussen will not return at the Brazilian GP, after the Dane already missed Sprint Qualifying at Interlagos, as he is currently ill. As a result, Oliver Bearman will finish the rest of the weekend following the Sprint as well for the Americans, the team confirmed.

Bearman replaces Magnussen in Brazil GP

Haas announced leading up to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix that Kevin Magnussen is ill and therefore, he is not fit to participate on Friday, which meant he has to miss the Sprint part of the weekend to begin with. He wanted to wait to see if he could return, however, Haas F1 confirmed that the young Briton will drive the car during the rest of the weekend as well.

"MoneyGram Haas F1 Team can confirm that Kevin Magnussen will not compete in the São Paulo Grand Prix and Oliver Bearman will race for the team for the remainder of the weekend," the team shared.

Bearman was already in action on Friday at the Interlagos circuit to participate in free practice and sprint qualifying, where he qualified in P10. He now may complete the weekend, which means he can particiapte in his third GP in 2024. Bearman filled in for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari in Jeddah, then took over for the suspended Kevin Magnussen at Haas in Baku. Bearman has already scored seven points this season.
