Lando Norris was lucky to survive Q1 at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Brit struggled in the rainy conditions and only just got through to the second qualifying section. Adopted Brazilian hero, Lewis Hamilton will have to start from P16 on Sunday after being eliminated in Q1.

With eight minutes left on the clock of the first qualifying segment, Franco Colapinto crashed hard and caused a red flag. Colapinto was okay, but his Williams was not. His mechanics have a big job to fix his car before the race later on. During the red flag, it started raining harder again, so drivers lined up in the pitlane to go out at the green light once again.

Things got exciting in the closing stages, with sprint winner Lando Norris getting into trouble. The title contender just got through with a time good enough for 15th, two-tenths faster than Lewis Hamilton. Besides Hamilton and Colapinto, Oliver Bearman, Nico Hulkenberg and Guanyu Zhou were also unable to continue qualifying.
