Brazilian Grand Prix red flagged after huge incident for Colapinto
The first Red Flag of the Brazilian Grand Prix has been deployed on lap 32. The rain started to hammer down, leading the FIA to first deploy the safety car. A lap later, Colapitno smashed into the wall at the last corner heavily. A huge amount of debris and fluid meant that a red flag was a no-brainer. Lando Norris and George Russell pit before the safety car, but Max Verstappen, who is charging through the field, is yet to pit. Esteban Ocon currently leads the Grand Prix at Interlagos.
Max Verstappen has managed to have a great start to his Brazilian Grand Prix after starting P17. The Dutchman has charged through the field and will restart the Grand Prix from second place. Conditions were worsening at Interlagos, and the wets seemed quicker for a matter of minutes. Sergio Perez was much faster on his wets but will now have a free change of tyres under red flag conditions as the conditions change once again. Colapinto slid into the barrier at high speed under the safety car. The Argentine crashed for the second time today in what has been a torrid weekend for Williams. His teammate, Alex Albon, was unable to start the race after suffering too much damage to take the start.
