Red Bull runs eight billion simulations for Verstappen in Las Vegas

In just two weeks times, the final tripleheader of the current Formula One season will get underway. The grid will first fly to Las Vegas, before visiting Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The get the RB20 set up properly, Red Bull are running a lot of simulation runs for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

At the factory in Milton Keynes, in total, eight billion simulations are run. Jack Harington, Red Bull's partnerships group lead, talked to Reuters about their preparations. "We run four billion simulations before we arrive at the track," he began.

"And then we take the data from FP1 and FP2 (first and second practice) and introduce those into the simulations and run those four billion again. The more simulations you run, the more things you see and the more chance you will have of being able to react to them efficiently."

At Las Vegas, Max Verstappen could already be crowned as world champion. Aiming to achieve his fourth Formula One title in just as many season, the Red Bull driver has a 62-point gap to Lando Norris in the drivers' standings.
