Villeneuve sides with Herbert: 'Verstappen can't ask that'

Johnny Herbert has been heavily criticised by Jos Verstappen. The former British driver often gives his speaks about his views with the media while being an FIA steward, and the Dutchman has questioned his impartiality. Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Jacques Villeneuve reveals what he thinks of Verstappen Sr's statements.
In the press, Herbert regularly talks about Verstappen and title rival Lando Norris. The Red Bull driver himself reacted to Herbert's statements. He said he found it abnormal that the steward accused him of those things.
Max's father, Jos Verstappen, also reacted to the steward's statements. For example, he also stated that he thought Max had gone too far, but he did think that a steward should not talk to the press.
Villeneuve backs Herbert against Jos Verstappen
Villeneuve thinks Herbert is acting fairly as a steward: "I didn’t see anything bad from Herbert and as far as I can see the rules were followed in Mexico. They [the stewards] do the marshalling for free, so [Jos Verstappen] cannot ask a pundit to give up his job to do something for nothing."
The Canadian then stated that stewards will never keep everyone happy. "You will always have an issue. It's not always easy to be fully neutral. It’s that simple. But the rules are badly written, that's the first issue."
