Formula 1 fans can be part of Lewis Hamilton's final chapter at Mercedes. To celebrate the long and successful partnership between Mercedes and Hamilton, the German team offers the fans the chance to have their name printed on Hamilton's car for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

To help promote the competition, Hamilton gave an emotional message to his fans on social media. The 39-year-old has been part of the Mercedes team for 12 years and previously used the Mercedes engine during his time at McLaren. His partnership with the German team will conclude at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as he moves to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

"TeamLH, you’ve always been here. Through all the ups and downs, every step of the way. As we get ready to mark the end of one chapter in Abu Dhabi, and the start of another, I can’t think of anything better than carrying as many of your names as possible on my car in the final race of the season," Hamilton said.

How to get your name on Hamilton's car

Just 150 names will be added to the car for the weekend in Abu Dhabi. Fans have until 23:59 GMT on 26th November to enter the competition via the link shared in Hamilton's post on X.

Hamilton won six out of his seven World Championships with Mercedes and helped win every Constructors' Championship between 2014 and 2021. During his time with Mercedes, Hamilton set many records, including becoming the first driver to win more than 100 Grands Prix and secure more than 100 pole positions.

After losing out to Max Verstappen in 2021, when he tried to win a record-breaking 8th World Championship, Mercedes has struggled compared to the competition. For a while, the performance looked stronger in 2024, but Mercedes will (likely) finish fourth, behind McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. After a poor result in Brazil, Hamilton slipped to 7th in the Drivers' Championship. The British driver has just three Grands Prix remaining with the team, including this weekend's Las Vegas event.
