Sergio Perez disagrees with the statements his father, Antonio Perez Garibay, has made about Ralf Schumacher. The Mexican driver's father has often been in the news for unusual statements. This time, the Red Bull driver has responded to his father's statements.

During an interview, Perez's father raised many eyebrows with a homophobic slur towards Schumacher after the German announced he was in a same-sex relationship earlier this year. Ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend, Perez told Sky Sports that he does not agree with the statements made by his father.

Perez disagrees with his own father

"First of all, I don't agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard. I don't share any of his views. But, at the same time, I don't control what my father has to say, I can only control what I say," Perez said in front of the Sky Sports camera.

"I think it's important, as a sport, to always show that what happens on track, always remains on track, and that is the way I see it, and we should always be an example to the world," the Red Bull Racing man concluded.
