Lewis Hamilton struggled greatly during the Brazilian Grand Prix. During this, he made some cryptic comments about his last race, leaving fans wondering if he would be ending his season early. When asked about Hamilton's comments by the media, Toto Wolff weighed in.
Toto Wolff admits that he knew it was "never going to be easy" with Hamilton deciding to move to Ferrari. However, he prides Mercedes and himself on how they "have achieved to maintain the professional relationships".
Hamilton emotional over Brazilian GP
Wolff told media, including GPBlog, that despite Lewis having a horrible weekend, he thinks "he and us as a team, we've been really doing well and holding on to working together because obviously it's three more races to go".
Wolff also mentioned how Hamilton has been known to wear his heart on his sleeve when dealing with his emotions. "Lewis, as we all know, for so many years wears his heart on the sleeve. I think it was such a bad experience for him that whole race weekend," Wolff said.
He continued on by saying that Mercedes did not do what they should have for Hamilton to have the race he needed. "And then if the car has been bad on such a day and we've not given him a tool that is good enough to what he should have."
