Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff and Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur both responded to the Grand Prix Drivers Association (GPDA) statement at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. While answering the question, there was some laughter from the two of them after both team bosses were fined by the FIA for using bad language themselves last year.

The GPDA, with president George Russell, made a statement about working and cooperating with the FIA, as well as with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Thus, the drivers wanted more insight into the FIA's business on racing, with the statement conveying a pretty harsh tone towards Ben Sulayem, who has not yet responded. Wolff and Vasseur made shared their thoughts on the matter after the first free practice in Las Vegas during the constructors' press conference.

Wolff and Vasseur laugh about their fines

"I need to be careful what I say here because Fred and I, last year, were summoned to the stewards. Can we pull the joker here so not respond because last year was so bad?" joked Wolff, referring to last year's incident in Las Vegas, where both he and Vasseur were fined as a result of swearing in the press conference.

"We're in such a privileged position with the sport and that we attract fans. We're in the best demographic, if you say so, younger people. We race in front of full grandstands and there's a lot of sponsorship interest and what we need to achieve is that we're all pulling on the same string and handle our joint product carefully (Formula 1, ed.). That was a good answer, right?", the Austrian continued by laughing. The French team boss could also be heard joining in with Wolff. "The same goes for me," Vasseur also said, laughing.

Wolff continued. "I think all stakeholders that are in decision-making positions need to remind ourselves that we carry responsibility for this sport and we need stability. So this is how I see it." Vasseur couldn't agree more. "Nothing to add. The answer was perfect."
