Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull's Managing Director, highly complimented Max Verstappen. Last weekend, Verstappen became Formula 1's 2024 World Champion. This is the fourth time he has won this title, and all four have been won consecutively. It wasn't always easy on Verstappen, which makes this achievement all the more glorious.

The 2024 season started very well for Red Bull Racing. It looked like it would be a repeat of the 2023 season when their domination came easily. That did not end up being the case. Lando Norris and McLaren became a much faster team with a better car. With the advantage of having the better car, Norris got closer and closer to Verstappen. That is until Verstappen's Brazilian masterclass, in which we saw him demolish the competition.

Mintzlaff on Verstappen

"For me, Max Verstappen is the best driver in the world and he proved that even in the difficult stages of this season. He has never lost sight of his goal of becoming world champion. If you want to become champion, you have to drive on the limit," Mintzlaff told Deutsche Presse Agentur in conversation.

The Brazilian Grand Prix was also very interesting to Mintzlaff. "That was pure talent, pure magic in extreme conditions," the German said. "To emerge victorious at the end of such a season with ups and downs shows the excellence of Max Verstappen and our entire team," Mintzlaff concluded.
