This is the final starting line-up for the Qatar Grand Prix
- Sandy van Wijngaarden
George Russell will start the Qatar Grand Prix from first place after Max Verstappen was demoted due to a one-place grid penalty. The Dutchman will, therefore, not start from pole position, but from second place. Otherwise, the final starting grid is the same as the qualifying result.
Max Verstappen was finally happy with his RB20 again in Qatar on Saturday. On Friday, during qualifying for the sprint race, the Dutchman was still complaining about several problems. During qualifying for the Grand Prix, Verstappen put his car in pole position.
The Red Bull Racing driver later received only a one-place grid penalty for driving too slowly on a cool-down lap. Verstappen will, therefore, start from P2. This ensures that George Russell will start from the first spot.
Lando Norris will start from P3, with his teammate, Oscar Piastri, behind him on P4. McLaren is still in contention with mainly Ferrari for the constructors' championship. Charles Leclerc starts on P5, and Carlos Sainz on P7. Lewis Hamilton also seems to have found speed compared to Friday and will start from P6.
