Jacques Villeneuve was the last Canadian to become a Formula 1 world champion. If it is up to Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin, hid son Lance would be Villeneuve's successor. Whether that will succeed? The former champion does not rule it out but has some urgent advice for Stroll junior.

With Adrian Newey joining the team, Aston Marin have brought in the top designer in Formula 1; someone who will undoubtedly improve the Silverstone-outfit's car. But according to Villeneuve, Newey can't do it on his own: "He needs the right input from the driver and he needs the right people around him, which takes time," Villeneuve told Spin Casino.

In the end, Newey will make Aston Martin successful, Villeneuve believes. "Lawrence's goal is for his son to become world champion. That's why he puts so much money into it. That is why he is doing this. Will it be successful? Who knows."

Villeneuve has advice for Lance Stroll

Villeneuve argues that Stroll is not the most popular driver on the F1 grid. "Does Lance need to improve his personality? It is important to be liked in this industry. If you win every race like Verstappen, you might be liked a little less."

"If you are liked, you end up being faster because everyone behind you pushes you and helps you. The same thing happens with mechanics. It's cause-effect. So it's important for Lance to improve his appearance in the media."
