- Corwin Kunst
Helmut Marko has pinpointed one Red Bull junior who he sees as a major talent for the future. In Formula 1 next year, the lineup of the Red Bull stable is yet to be 100% finalised. Sergio Perez may leave Red Bull, with French F2 title challenger Isack Hadjar making the move to Visa Cash App RB. The Austrian team has 17-year-old Arvid Lindblad waiting in the wings. Not so much for next year, as Lindblad continues to develop. Marko told Kleine Zeitung exactly how excited he was for the youngster to develop.
Marko refuses to comment on Perez's possible departure from the Red Bull team, confirming that Isack Hadjar is having a good season. The French driver is battling for the F2 championship and was granted a run in Max Verstaopen's RB20 in practice at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 81-year-old team advisor states: "Hadjar is only half a point behind the leaders in Formula 2. Next year, there will generally be a lot of juniors driving in Formula 1. "Oliver Bearman, Kimi Antonelli and Gabriel Bortoleto, there are a lot of juniors driving there, which is very good," Marko said.
'He's our biggest talent'
It is still quite early, but in the future, we could definitely see Lindblad in Formula 1. According to Marko, Red Bull's renowned development system's greatest talent is the 17-year-old Brit. "That is definitely our biggest talent. For us, he is definitely the person who pushes himself most from the back to the front with his performances." Marko said.
This year, Lindblad made his debut with a fourth-place finish in Formula 3, picking up four wins and five podiums in the process. Next year, he will make the switch to Formula 2 and will be hoping to be the next Red Bull academy product to hit the F1 grid.
