It is the 24th and final round of the 2024 Formula One season. After a long year filled with thrills that could put a Hollywood action movie to shame, we've arrived at the finale of what turned into a highly entertaining season of racing. Here, you'll be able to stay up to date with all the developments from qualifying at the Yas Marina Circuit in what is a crucial session with championship implications up and down the grid.

F1 LIVE: Qualifying for the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix:

Ferrari and McLaren battle for the title:

Ferrari set the pace in FP1 with Charles Leclerc, but McLaren came right back at them after Lando Norris topped FP2 on Friday. It's set to be tight between the two title rivals.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises to be one of the most exciting races yet, with Lewis Hamilton driving his final Grand Prix in Mercedes colours prior to making the anticipated switch to Ferrari in the 2025 season. However, neither he nor Mercedes are racing for anything particularly important anymore with them being out of contention for both titles since practically the start of the season. The driver he is replacing, nevertheless, Carlos Sainz, still has a chance to aid teammate Charles Leclerc in bringing back the Constructor’s title to Maranello for the first time since 2008, but to do so they will have to beat the almighty McLaren, who lead them by 21 points.

More drama in Abu Dhabi:

The story that has so far dominated the paddock this weekend has been the quarrel between Max Verstappen and George Russell. Brewing since their qualifying clash in Qatar last week, it exploded in the Yas Marina Circuit paddock yesterday with both parties dishing out comments against the rival side, with even Toto Wolff making a rather unorthodox and dramatic case against Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, going as far as calling him a "yapping little terrier".

Another narrative to look out for this weekend is the fight for P6 in the Constructors'. Alpine is locked in a tight three-team battle with both Haas and VCARB. With Esteban Ocon ousted from the team before the final round, the Enstone-based racing stable will be hoping rookie Jack Doohan brings his a-game as he is set to replace the Frenchman in the car next to Pierre Gasly

We're gearing up for an exciting final race weekend here at the Yas Marina Circuit. You won't miss a beat from qualifying here at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
