Rosberg reviews Hamilton's performance on his last Mercedes race
In the final years of their joint time at Mercedes, the relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg was not always friendly. Since then, however, Rosberg has not been shy to share how good he thinks his former teammate is. Speaking to Sky Sports, he even deems Hamilton, who will drive for Ferrari next season, "the greatest of all time".
Hamilton managed to advance from 16th place to fourth last weekend in his last Grand Prix on behalf of Mercedes. For Rosberg, the race in Abu Dhabi was the ultimate proof that Hamilton is still acting at an unprecedented level of excellence. "The way he drove was the drive of a seven-time world champion, greatest of all time because that race speed again," Rosberg told Sky Sports. "It was a phenomenal drive by Lewis."
With an overtaking move, Hamilton managed to outsmart teammate George Russell on the very last lap. "That was insane! The way he lined him up, it was perfection. Through that whole section around the back, overtaking on the outside. Amazing," Rosberg enthused about the overtake.
Hamilton has most 'natural talent'
The German also watched Hamilton say goodbye to Mercedes, a team they both driver for together. Having seen up close the qualities of the former champion, Rosberg concluded, "He certainly has one of, or maybe the greatest natural talent the sport has ever seen. It's just unbelievable,"
"And I was a decent driver as well, so there were so many occasions where I was just like, 'this is insane'."
