Ferrari team principal believes there will be no conflicts between Charles Leclerc and newly-signed Lewis Hamilton in 2025 season, if the two end up fighting for the world championship this upcoming year. The Frenchman also talked about the developing the 2025 and the 2026 cars with the regulation change awaiting.

With Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari have two drivers eager to perform at the top. Having two frontrunners might create some issues, but team principal Frederic Vasseur doesn't believe that would be a problem next year.

"Clearly, the last two years, I let them [Leclerc and Carlos Sainz] race on track and it was for the benefit of the team because the emulation that we created like this was part of the recovery. When we had tough times, they had a huge respect between them," he explained to Sky Sports. He added: "No, it's part of the performance of the team."

Ferrari to prefer '25 or '26 car?

With an important regulation change in the 2026 season, every team have to deal with the headache of rathing maximising the '25 cars, or already focus completely on what's to come in 2026.

"I think that everybody will be on the grid will be in the same situation. That we will have to take a decision at one stage of 2025 to switch completely on 2026," the team principal says.

He further explained: "This will depend for sure of the first races to see if you are fighting for something or not. And everybody will have the same approach. Everybody will ask the question, that we have to stop this project or to switch. Let's hope that we will be in a good position after a couple of events."
