The 2024 season was the longest season in Formula 1 history, with 24 races on the schedule. During the season, many drivers experienced extreme highs and lows. When it comes to high prices and low races, that is where the Destructors' Championship comes in.

Perez tops the cost chart

During the 2024 season, Sergio Perez was fighting hard for a contract extension and then once he got it, he was fighting hard to keep it. Perez missed out on every podium this season, but that doesn't mean he didn't get close. Unfortunately, his collision with Carlos Sainz kept him off the Baku podium and cost Red Bull Racing a lot of money. Sergio Perez takes home first place in the Destrcutors' championship. Perez had to retire from five out of the 24 races due to accidents, and with that, he tops the cost chart with an estimated $4,861,000 in damages.

Williams wins overall

In terms of team crashes and cost, Williams wins in this category. Overall, Williams had 17 accidents and scored only 17 points. Alexander Albon and Franco Colapinto placed 2nd and 3rd, with former Williams driver Logan Sargeant placing 6th. As a collective, the Williams drivers and their collisions cost the team $11,108,750.

Gasly gets last place

Pierre Gasly ended the 2024 season in a historic and huge way for his team, Alpine. Gasly was the only driver not to have any self-inflicted racing incidents. He is placed in the very last spot, having cost his team $0.
