Sainz on the past year with Ferrari: 'Happy to finish the season strong'
- Savannah Lenz
Yesterday marked the last official day that Carlos Sainz was a Ferrari driver. Despite Sainz knowing he did not have a seat at Ferrari before the 2024 season even started, he still gave it his all, winning two races in 2024. For that, he is proud.

Sainz proud of how his season with Ferrari ended
After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Ferrari was saying goodbye to two things. The first was the constructors championship. The second was Carlos Sainz.
Sainz said, "Yeah, happy and proud of these four years in Ferrari, but probably more happy and proud about this last year. I think this last year when the year started, it presented itself as a very challenging year. With a lot to deal with these 24 races, knowing that I will not continue, yeah be substituted in the team".
Sainz was not the only driver dropped by his team; several other drivers moved teams and lost their seats. The Spaniard mentioned that when he said "You could see it with the other drivers that are not continuing next year in their teams. Everyone has struggled to keep motivation, to keep focus, to keep determination. And that's one thing that I've, in my side, managed to keep covered and finish the season strongly." He noted that he was "so happy and proud of that".
Ferrari wasn't the only one that wasn't happy with losing the constructors. Sainz wasn't as well. "Obviously not happy with missing out on the World Championship because it would have been the best ideal way to win a championship. But I need to have my head up high, and this is the way I did, and I'm happy to finish the season strong".
Sainz has already marked his switch to Williams with his Instagram bio reading "Formula 1 Driver for @williamsracing".
