Megacrash at Dakar: Rally legend Loeb flips over
On the third stage of the Dakar Rally, another legend has flipped his car in the desert. Sebastian Loeb lost control off his car, and the incident cost him important time. The former WRC champion also commented on the indicent afterwards, while the FIA is conducting an inspection to see if Loeb's car can still be used for the remaining stages of the competition, Motorsport.com reported.

The footage also shows him getting out of the car and how badly the car was damaged. Despite the huge crash and the resulting damage, the driver was still able to continue the rally, finishing the in the 81st position in the cars. As a result, in the overall standings, he is in P16.
"We were ambushed from the start and it is a miracle that we made it to the finish today after the rollover, breaking a steering rod and overheating problems," the Frenchman wrote on X reacting to the incident. "Not the day we had hoped for this morning, but this is the Dakar Rally: merciless," he concluded.
During the first stage of the Dakar Rally, Loeb also played a leading role. In fact, he was one of the drivers who stopped driving shortly before the finish, thus avoiding having to lead out the next stage. See his Stage 3 crash below!
