What is Hamilton's best Mercedes memory? 'There's too many'
- Estéban den Toom
Lewis Hamilton is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. The Englishman has already secured seven world championships in Formula 1. Next year, he will aim to add an eighth title to his illustrious career—but this time, with a new team. Starting in 2025, Hamilton will race for Ferrari. As he prepares for this next chapter, Hamilton reflects on his most memorable moments with Mercedes.
It is difficult for Hamilton to pick out one specific moment, he said to GPblog and others. "There's not one, there's not just one. There are many, many great moments. Moments with Niki (Lauda), amazing conversations, arguments, the laughing that we've had within the group, times we've come together, days where you've had success and the guys have a tiny bit of excitement as opposed to sometimes they're just elated, you don't know why one means more to them than the other," he explained.
Hamilton reflects on his time at Mercedes
During his time at Mercedes, Hamilton became world champion a total of six times. "There's not one particular one. It's been an amazing journey together, one that I've generally loved." Concluded the seven-time Formula One world champion.
After a decade of racing for Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton is now closing that chapter and looking ahead to two seasons with the iconic Italian team. In 2025, he will team up with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari. Carlos Sainz, who partnered with the Monegasque driver this season, has moved to Williams.
Just a few days ago, Hamilton celebrated his 40th birthday. This milestone makes him, after Fernando Alonso, the oldest driver currently on the Formula 1 grid—a testament to his enduring passion and talent for the sport.
