Verstappen expresses wishes for RB21: 'Then a lot is possible in '25''
- Ludo van Denderen
At Red Bull Racing, they are currently working hard on the RB21, the car with which Max Verstappen hopes to become Formula 1 world champion for the fifth consecutive time in 2025. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the Dutchman has at least two wishes for his new car.
Red Bull Racing hopes for the new car, which will be presented in London on 18 February, are that some of its predecessor's fundamental problems have been solved by then. Verstappen has at least finished his list of things that need to be addressed above all else, he told the likes of GPblog. "I just hope that that makes the car more drivable, in general, of course, more competitive," says the Dutch driver.
According to Verstappen, if that indeed succeeds, it does not necessarily mean that Red Bull is again the favourite for the title. "I also, of course, know that the other ones are not sitting still. So next season is going to be a big battle."
Become champion in '25? This should happen then
Yet even in the event that the RB21 is not the fastest car in the field, Verstappen could stand with the absolute top prize in his hands at the end of the season. "Like I said before, even when you're not the quickest, if you just keep maximising those results, a lot is possible."
