Kevin Magnussen, despite transitioning to the IMSA championship, will maintain an active involvement with the Haas Formula 1 team, according to team boss Ayao Komatsu. His experience and insights will likely contribute to the team's development and performance in the 2025 season.

No full F1 farewell for Magnussen after Haas exit

After the 2024 season, Kevin Magnussen expressed openness to maintaining a connection with Formula 1 but dismissed the idea of serving as a reserve driver. Instead, he will stay engaged with Haas in a different capacity, participating in a series of TPCs (testing previous car programmes). Magnussen's involvement in these tests is strategic, as the permitted testing mileage for current drivers in such scenarios is strictly limited.

"He's going to drive some TPC events to provide a reference," Komatsu confirmed. "We have got a good relationship." In addition to this role, Magnussen will possibly attend some Grands Prix with Haas, provided his new schedule allows. In what capacity this will be is yet to be known.

Kevin Magnussen will compete in both the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the World Endurance Championship (WEC) this year. His season kicks off this weekend with the 24 Hours of Daytona. The Danish driver shared his excitement about returning to racing and highlighted the greater opportunities for victory in these series compared to his Formula 1 career.
