A Red Bull Racing F1 simulator signed by Max Verstappen has raised a whopping £103,000 at a charity auction.
F1 simulator signed by Verstappen fetches huge sum
The simulator, a replica of the legendary RB19 with which Red Bull won 21 out of 22 Grands Prix in 2023, was auctioned off for Wings for Life, the charity run by Dietrich Mateschitz that focuses on spinal cord injury research. The machine was sold to the highest bidder for £103,000 (approximately €122,000.)
The auction winner will not only receive a unique item signed by the four-time world champion, but will also have the opportunity for a special visit to the Red Bull Racing Technology Campus in Milton Keynes for a behind-the-scenes look at the Austrian F1 team.
Barry Gough, founder and CEO of Memento Exclusives (F1 Authentics) is delighted with the result of the auction. "We’ve partnered with Oracle Red Bull Racing for several years and have had the pleasure of working with Wings for Life on numerous occasions. We are thrilled to have raised a significant sum for the charity; this is a phenomenal achievement and will help enormously in the amazing work they do. On top of this, the auction winner will be receiving a next-level piece of racing equipment, signed by Max himself.”
Emma Hind, CEO of Wings for Life UK, added, “We are incredibly grateful to F1 Authentics and Oracle Red Bull Racing for their generous support. Raising £103,000 is a significant achievement and will make a huge contribution in spinal cord injury research. It has been a pleasure to work with them on this campaign, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this valuable fundraising partnership!”
