George Russell's helmet an iconic gesture between two political leaders

George Russell's helmet has been exchanged as a presidential gift between the leaders of the nations of Malaysia and Indonesia in a political meeting that took place recently. 

Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, made the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, the second President of the region ever to have received a Formula 1 helmet, with President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, being the first one, according to Tarmac Sports Malaysia.

While President Subianto was visitng Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar took him to visit the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC) to discuss potential cooperation between the two nations' leading oil and gas companies PETRONAS (Malaysia) and PERTAMINA (Indonesia).

With the background of both countries' motorsport context, the gift of Russell's F1 helmet is particularly meaningful and symbolises the strong bond between the two.
