Spa-Francorchamps track to be minted on commemorative €2 coins

Two special commemorative coins will be minted in Belgium during 2025, the country's government have announced. One will celebrate the National Lottery, but more importantly for F1 fans, the second will have the well-liked Spa-Francorchamps track on it, making it a great collector's item for the fans of the sport.

To honour the social role of the National Lottery in Belgium and the sporting and historical significance of the Spa-Francorchamps race circuit, two commemorative 2-euro coins will be issued. This was announced by the Federal Public Service Finance of Belgium and laid down in a royal decree.

Spa-Francorchamps on the €2 coin in Belgium

The Federal Public Service Finance of Belgium announced that to honour the National Lottery in the county and the sporting and historical significance of Spa-Francorchamps track, they will produce a commemorative coin. The track will feature on the €2 coin.

When you succeed calling tails with the coin, the map of the the iconic track will appear, together with its lenght and name. The decision to make the coin was ordered midway through January, but it is unknown when they will become available for use.

The Spa-Francorchamps track has a long history in Formula 1. The circuit featured on the calendar during the first season back in 1950, while the first Grand Prix was hosted back in in 1925 in the Ardennes. Recently, it was announced that a contract extension was signed with F1, although the Belgian GP will enter a rotational system. From 2027, the track will host a GP only in every second season.
