Christian Horner is looking forward to the new Formula 1 season. The Red Bull Racing team boss obviously hopes Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing see out the upcoming season at the very top, but he realises this is not going to be easy. Looking ahead to the 2025 season, he sees a serious rival in Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton.

Of course, Horner had seen the images of Hamilton at Ferrari. The Brit too saw how his countryman filled the newspaper and television columns, adorned in his new, red attire. While Horner obviously carries Red Bull in his heart, he does see the charm of Hamilton joining the iconic team.

Speaking at the Autosport Awards, Horner said he thinks it is a nice combination. "I've seen some pictures, I think it suits him. I think it's great for Formula 1. Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari, that really is box office. So I think it's just another dynamic for this year that could be super exciting."

'Red Bull gets three teams on its heels'

Last season, it was already clear that the top teams in particular were very close to each other in terms of performance. Horner suspects that also in 2025 the margins between them are going to be small as well.

"You’re going to have four teams that are going to be very competitive. I think it’s going to be very tight, and take your pick."

He then listed the line-up: "McLaren are going to be strong, Ferrari are going to be strong, Mercedes are going to have something to prove as well so it could be a stellar year.”
