Former F1 driver and world champion Nico Rosberg has revealed on a German television show that former teammate Lewis Hamilton has gifted his daughters presents. Rosberg and Hamilton went against each other in a vicious fight in 2016 after Hamilton won in both 2014 and 2015.
Once childhood friends who karted together, Hamilton and Rosberg went way back. However during the 2016 Formula 1 season, things took a turn for the worst when the two went up against each other for the championship battle. The two drivers were teammates from 2013-2016. During this time, the two swapped leads and had multiple heated moments on and off the track. It was due to memorable moments like the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix that a young Max Verstappen was able to walk away with his first victory.
Rosberg's daughters are fans of Hamilton
After winning his first and only championship, Rosberg decided to unexpectedly retire. Ever since then, the two have seemed to improve their once-frozen friendship. Rosberg has recently revealed that Hamilton sends his daughters gifts every Christmas. During an interview on the NDR Talkshow, Rosberg confirmed that his daughters are fans of Hamilton that they receive a big box of gifts from him every year.
On the topic of his daughters being Hamilton's fans, he said, "That’s true too. That’s even more than a weak point. That’s a big problem." Then Rosberg admitted that Hamilton gave the girls presents each year. "No, that’s great. That’s nice of him. We kind of had an enmity. Now, both children have a huge box of presents from him on their doorstep every Christmas. It’s a nice approach.”
However, after joking with the interviewer, Rosberg said, “He has to stay outside the door. But he’s welcome to leave the presents.”
